On the 20th of October 2012 Jaguar and Aston Martin Showrooms at Emil Frey AG, Badenerstrasse in Zürich were transformed into a showroom with most remarkable Swiss collector’s cars from different times.  It was time to announce the first Zürich Classic Car Award by EFG Bank. From 4 DolderClassics Sundays and one „concours d’élegance Bürkliplatz Zürich Prolog Raid Basel-Paris“ . A jury from the press  (Bärtschi Media, Textlab, Sonntagszeitung, NZZ, Autozeit, Zwischengas, Auto Klassik Illustrierte) has choosen 18 cars to be presented to the final judgement at Emil Frey. All 18 cars with their proud owners appeard tot he prize. To give the prize in 4 different categories (pre-war, after-war until 1960, from 1960 until 1975 and „best of Show“ was extremely difficult since every car deserved a price at its own such was the quality oft he 18 cars. The winners were:

                  Pre-war: Lagonda Saloon V12

                  1945- 1960: Jaguar C-Type

                  1960 – 1975: Lamborghini Miura S

Best of Show : Delahaye 135 MS Coupé des Alpes Coach by Tüscher Zürich

The first Zürich Classic Car Award was strongly acclaimed and enthousiastically commented by classic key figures and will certainly have a continuation in 2013

On the 21st of September a very happy Andreas Burlet took the season 2012 prize a beautiful Beyer Chronograph. Prize was given to him at the Beyer Watch shop Bahnhofstrasse in Zürich by Jürg Délemont from Beyer. Burlet: „I’m very pleased, since I never won a prize and this chronograph means something special to me. Burlet came with his self built (no Arden or Lynx Eventer) Jaguar XJ-S Shooting Brake up to the dolder and promised to come back next year with another exotica.

The last Dolder Classics was due to a uncertain weatherforecast not so succesful. Some of the lads and gents might have been experienced a rather wet day before in Arosa, Hittnau or at the GP Safenwil and therefore preferred to stay at cosy home. Why not – even it’s less sporty then to come up to the Dolder. Nevertheless the Season found with some 150 cars – amongst a DB4 Volante and Jaguar SS – a very beautiful end (without any rain after all!!) and the big band „Color of Jazz“ brought some swinging sounds to the dolder. C U next year !

The Swiss rescue team REGA will be at the last DolderClassics in 2012 on 2nd of September. They will bring an old Alloutte Helicopter with a simulator. The Big Band „Color of Jazz“ will again give a farewell to the season 2012 with a lot of evergreens from the roaring twenties and swinging sixties
